Assistant Professor, Urology
Dr. Ambani is a native mid-Michigander, having grown up in Jackson, MI. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his Urology residency at the University of Michigan, and then stayed on to complete a fellowship in Laparoscopy, Robotics, and Stone Surgery. He subsequently joined the Endourology division of the University of Michigan Health System Department of Urology. His clinical interests include minimally-invasive surgery of the kidney and ureter, including ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction and complex ureteral reconstruction using small incisions, kidney masses, and kidney stone surgery. He also serves as the associate program director for residency education, and oversees educational innovation for the Urology training program.
